How to Pray for Your Wife’s Spiritual Growth

How to Pray for Your Wife’s Spiritual Growth

First, Pray for Her:

  1. That she would be strong in faith.
  2. That she would grow spiritually.
  3. That she would make time to read Scripture and pray.
  4. That she would have discernment and receive God’s revelation.
  5. That she would become a woman of God, used in His power.
  6. That she would be a light to others.
  7. That she would understand God’s will and walk in it.

A Husband’s Testimony (Michael Goldstone)

For many years, I have prayed for my wife almost every day without fail.
Each morning before we part ways, I hold her close and pray over her, covering her in prayer.

I take time to understand what is happening in her life—her health, relationships, ministry opportunities, and emotional state. These are my priorities.

As I hold her, I ask God to work in these specific areas that day. I pray for her protection, that God would draw her closer to Himself, and that she would sense His presence in a special way.

It only takes a minute or two, but by God’s grace, I have done this consistently for many years.

God is faithful. He has answered these prayers, bringing my wife comfort, support, and a deep assurance of my love for her.

In many ways, we still feel like newlyweds. Our time together is full of joy.
I know this is deeply connected to prayer.

Prayer

Lord, no matter how much I love my wife, I know You love her more.

I cannot meet her every need or fulfill every expectation—but You can.
So I ask You to make a way for (wife’s name), helping her move beyond the past and come into a deeper, richer knowledge of You.

Help her walk with You diligently and faithfully—never doubting, never wavering.
Strengthen her spirit and increase her faith daily, that she may always trust You to answer her prayers.

Help her set aside time to be with You—to read Your Word, to pray, and to worship.
Let Your Word remain in her, so that whatever she asks will be done (see John 15:7).

Deepen her understanding of who You are.
Be her constant companion in every moment, and teach her to come to You first in all things.

Give her discernment and revelation.
Help her hear Your voice clearly.

No matter what storms surround her, keep her eyes fixed on You,
so she will never drift from the path You have prepared for her.

When she needs a fresh filling of Your Spirit, make me aware,
so I may pray for her immediately.

Lord, she desires to be a godly example to those around her—family and friends.
Give her patience and a gentle spirit toward everyone she meets.

Fill her so fully with Your Spirit that others would sense Your presence through her.

I know she desires to serve You.
If she is overwhelmed by responsibilities, help her discern when to say no.
Let everything she does bring glory to You.

Your Word says that those who find You find life and receive Your favor (see Proverbs 8:35).
So today, I pray that (wife’s name) would find new life in You
and delight in the blessings You pour into her life.

Guide her in everything she does.
Make her a vibrant, strong woman of God in Your eyes.

Help her understand Your will and walk in it without turning aside.
Teach her to trust in You with all her heart and not rely on her own understanding.
In all her ways, may she acknowledge You, and may You direct her paths (see Proverbs 3:5–6).
